ABSTRACT

The greatest source of ‘learning’ is going to be the practice in which you are currently working. The practices that deliver the best patient care are the ones that are very well managed. Therefore, if you are fortunate enough to work in a very well managed practice, fi nd out how they do it. If you are unlucky and you work in a very badly managed practice, work out why they are getting it wrong and what you would do differently to put things right. The majority of practices lie somewhere in the middle and so you will always be able to fi nd examples of good and bad management in your current practice.
