ABSTRACT

Planning for quality: doing the right thing right every time Nothing wastes money, time and effort more than not doing the right thing right fi rst time.

Having got your employees to ‘buy in’ to your practice philosophy, you might be tempted then to leave them to ‘do their own thing’. This can be a dangerous strategy, but paradoxically showing them that you trust them to do their jobs right is a big step towards gaining their commitment to your practice and to ultimately running an effective and effi cient operation. You must trust everyone to do the right thing right. However, there are a number of riders that need to be attached to this statement.
