ABSTRACT
Ammoxidation involves the combined action of ammonia and oxygen on a methyl group or methane to produce a nitrile. The most important of such nitriles are acrylonitrile and hydrogen cyanide. A number of aromatic nitriles also find use as intermediates in the synthesis of valuable products.
