Introduction of the SAR System

This chapter introduces the SAR and satellite system from the hardware point of view. We will look through the Spaceborne and Airborne SAR systems with the block diagrams. Focusing on the Japanese L-band SAR systems, the chapter will explain the representing functions and performances on JERS-1 SAR, ALOS/PALSAR, ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 and airborne SAR (Pi-SAR-L2) with their features.
