ABSTRACT
The success of quantum well (QW) structures for infrared (IR) detection applications has stimulated the development of quantum dot infrared photodetectors (QDIPs). In general, QDIPs are similar to quantum well infrared photodetectors (QWIPs) but with the QWs replaced by quantum dots (QDs), which have size confinement in all spatial directions.
