ABSTRACT

Continuous improvement can be regarded as effective and efficient integration of enterprise philosophy, systems, techniques, and structure to achieve sustained improvement in all activities, performance, and impacts on an uninterrupted basis. Improvement does not just happen on its own: left on its own, the nature of almost any process or system is toward entropy or decay. It is thus up to the enterprise to consciously combat entropy, with erstwhile attention to continuous improvement providing one means of engaging in such combat (Jenner, 1998).
