ABSTRACT

An image can be a photograph, drawing, painting, or computer-generated visual that appeals to the visual sense of and evokes emotions in the viewer. It is either an exact rendition of an actual object, person, or environment or an artistic interpretation of it. Images are usually presented as a window into another space. To separate our reality from the artificial one, images have a defined border, which is usually geometric in shape with a very clear and accurate outline, which is the frame. The frame makes it very obvious to the viewer what is within this fake reality and what is not. Convention has defined the frame as being usually of a square shape, though any other shape is of course possible. The vertical image has longer vertical frame sides than horizontal ones and is less prone to storytelling but more to heights and intimate situations compared to the horizontal image.
