ABSTRACT
The design of the enclosure has an important effect on the performance of the building: The envelope affects the thermal interaction with the outdoors, the availability of daylighting, the psychological connection with the outdoors, and many aspects of occupant comfort. This chapter deals with the control of the Ÿow of energy between the interior and the exterior of the building, through the enclosure, to achieve thermal comfort.
