ABSTRACT
In this chapter, elastic and plastic solutions are obtained for thick-walled cylindrical tubes with various end conditions (closed, open, and plane strain) and spherical shells subjected to internal and external pressures. Effects of strain hardened materials and changes in geometry due to large deformation are considered. Elastic and plastic stresses around a circular hole in infinite sheet are obtained. The stress-intensity factors near crack tips in structures are discussed.
