ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the variants of the kinetic theory with the vector parameter of damage of the combination of the scalar and vector parameters. It also examines the possibilities of using the kinetic approach with the vector damage parameter for describing different special features of deformation and long-term fracture of structural members in the multiaxial stress state. In Yu. N. Rabotnov formulated general considerations of the phenomenological approach to describing creep and long-term strength. The monograph contains the explanation of the fundamentals of the theory of creep of metals in the conditions of the uniaxial and multiaxial stress state. In the monograph by L. M. Kachanov attention is given to the formulation of the phenomenological relationships for the determination of long-term strength in the conditions of the multiaxial stress state. A large number of specific problems for investigating both the brittle and mixed fracture are solved.
