ABSTRACT

Spatial planning is seen as a discipline that assists project planners and decision makers to organize space activities. Within the urban environment, its multipurpose applications have widened its use and under the Geographical Information Systems (GIS), applications with the areas of land use, regional planning, urban and environmental planning would not have been possible without its use. Besides spatial planning, other meanings and scientific fields have found different ways of expression. Energy planning has evolved further based on spatial planning. The same has happened with a number of fields. Exergy Analysis is used, in such a concept, to “translate” the quality of energy within urban systems. A huge number of inefficiencies exist in cities. The way we use our electricity, heating, wasted resources. An exergy-based analyzed urban system indicates where the faults/inefficiencies are, where a new design is needed and what is needed to be done to optimize it
