ABSTRACT

Dr. Crawford of the Institute of Brain Chemistry and Human Nutrition in the United Kingdom, once pointed out that the reason behind the high intelligence quotient of Japanese children is that they have been consuming food rich in fish from a young age. Therefore, in Japan, campaigns are conducted for the prevention of various diseases by the spread of fish meals under the catchphrase that if one eats fish, that they will become smarter. With this in mind, what in the fish is good for human bodies? The nutrients indispensable for the proper growth of the human body should include proteins and various vitamins. However, fish has been found to be a very good source of food for health, particularly because of the presence of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which constitute the main components of fish oil.
