ABSTRACT

Most human beings hope to live healthily for the natural span of their life. Although the maximum human life span is estimated to be approximately 150 years, most human beings live only half of it and die of diseases or accidents. In South Korea, at least approximately 76,000 people die of cancer per year (2014). Cancer is the largest cause of death among all diseases, and its cure rate is extremely low. In the United States, a novel method has been developed for freezing humans suffering from incurable diseases, such as cancer, and thawing them when the medicine has been developed to revive them and treat the diseases. The method was developed in 1959 and, currently, tens of thousands of frozen human beings are sleeping at temperatures below −100°C. When a human is frozen, a substance that prevents blood from freezing is injected into the blood, and body tissue cells may be regenerated to some extent with the aforementioned method. However, the revival of frozen humans can be regarded as impossible to date because nerve cells cannot be revived with current technology.
