ABSTRACT

Healthcare Affordability is realized when organizations motivate people, improve processes, and increase performance. Healthcare Affordability stresses the importance of including all elements, and focusing on providing a compelling reason for all providers to participate in continual improvement. Healthcare Affordability is neither a treatment nor a remedy. Creating and applying Healthcare Affordability requires a purpose, a vision, a leader, a strategy, people, resources, processes, and a design and plan. The Healthcare Affordability construct and context can be defined, but, before applying Healthcare Affordability to any organization, one must understand the current state, design a solution, implement the solution, and ultimately maintain the design. The people participating should be carefully selected from within the organization be the guidance and design team. The initial stage assess is about researching and understanding the current conditions and identify the focus areas for improvement. A great deal of focus and attention must be paid to team planning and scheduling for implementation.
