ABSTRACT

As students approach their senior year and graduation from high school, they face many daunting, confusing, and sometimes contradictory choices. Their decisions at this stage can seriously affect their ability to pursue the career of their choice. This chapter guides them through many of the more challenging ones and offers suggestions as to how to approach and make the choices that are ultimately best for them. Among these suggestions are strategies for applying to a top school, taking advanced placement credits, and assembling a quality portfolio of work. The authors stress the importance of demonstrating initiative in the activities students engage in, especially trying to make games using the many free resources available on the Internet.
