ABSTRACT

The third year of college is a continuation of the learning effort with more choices over which courses to take. As with Chapters 5 and 8, this chapter provides an extensive discussion of what courses are likely to be available and the advantages or disadvantages of making particular selections. The chapter also includes discussions about the transitional nature of the third year, where students have completed many of the required courses and are now looking to deepen their knowledge of their particular chosen area of specialization and work to gain mastery over it. The chapter concludes with a brief mention of securing an internship or co-op, which is the basis for the chapter that follows.
