ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the final year of college, which for many students is make-or-break time. This chapter continues the pattern of the previous three chapters by covering what students can expect to be doing during their final year. As most of the essential coursework should now be complete, students typically spend their final year working on challenging, large-scale game development projects that require them to integrate the multidisciplinary knowledge accumulated thus far. The chapter also discusses some of the necessary mechanics for graduating on time and avoiding problems that could forestall that. These include making sure the student has the correct credits and required courses for “degree clearance.” The chapter concludes with a brief discussion on how students can prepare for the time when they are no longer students.
