ABSTRACT

The postmortem, in this case, has nothing to do with death but is a part of the production process that the game industry has, more or less, wholeheartedly adopted. The postmortem is conducted at the end of a project and is the means by which a team can continue to improve its efficiency and learn from its mistakes. This chapter outlines various postmortem practices and discusses what makes for a good postmortem and what steps management should take upon being presented with one. The chapter also explains what the experience may mean to the individuals involved.
