The birth of Studio Ghibli in 1985 confirmed the success of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, two animators that would soon represent the best models in the world of Japanese animation. In particular, their heroines created captivating trends in the new millennium, as evidenced by the large number of films inspired by their shōjos after each single release. At the same time, however, a new portion of web-based animation intensified, providing independent animators with the opportunity to widespread their art throughout the world.
