ABSTRACT

Onychopapilloma is most commonly seen in fingernails; it presents as a longitudinal band (mostly red but also white or brown), often associated with splinter hemorrhages and a distal splitting of the nail plate. A focal subungual hyperkeratosis or filiform mass is better visualized with dermoscopy of the nail plate free margin. It is painless in 60% of cases but consider removing when painful due to a possible malignant evolution ( Figure 23.1 ).
