ABSTRACT

Fibrokeratoma is a solitary and asymptomatic benign fibroepithelial tumor that forms in the periungual area or within or under the nail plate. It shows distally a hyperkeratotic tip that helps in the differential diagnosis of fibroma. Depending on the location, nail plate dystrophies may be associated. Dermoscopy reveals a central homogeneous pale-yellow area surrounded by a hyperkeratotic white scaly collarette. The presence of clumps of homogenous red lacunae divided by white meshwork-like keratotic septa with telangiectasia on the adjacent skin has also been reported ( Figure 26.1 ).
