ABSTRACT

In this introductory chapter, duplicated in the first volume of this series, the authors cover the essential Raspberry Pi OS commands that allow a system administrator to do file maintenance and perform other useful operations. A logical scheme used to organize the files might consist of creating bins for storing files according to the subject matter of the contents of the files, or according to the dates of their creation. It is helpful to visualize the structure of the files and directories using a diagram. The first argument is the source file that already exists and which the people want to copy. The second argument is the destination file or the name of the file that will be the copy. It is important at this point to notice the use of spaces in Raspberry Pi OS commands. The directory or directories immediately under the current working directory are referred to as the children of the current working directory.
