ABSTRACT

Both pulmonary arteries and veins can be assessed by pulmonary magnetic resonance angiography (MRA). With the advent of gadolinium-enhanced sequences, it is now possible to obtain high-resolution images of the pulmonary vessels, and pulmonary MRA is now considered a desirable alternative to X-ray angiography, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, computed tomography and scintigraphic imaging for the assessment of patients with pulmonary vascular diseases.
