ABSTRACT

A caesarean scar pregnancy is a pregnancy within the myometrial scar of a previous caesarean section. It is an iatrogenic entity, whereby the blastocyst enters a microscopic tract in the uterine scar and implants in the deficient anterior uterine wall. The pathogenesis is similar to other cases of intramural ectopic pregnancy that may occur after uterine surgery such as manual removal of placenta, uterine curettage or myomectomy.1
