ABSTRACT
Introduction Hormonal therapy is being used increasingly in addition to primary therapies of curative intent, such as radiotherapy and radical prostatectomy, in patients with localized and locally advanced prostate cancer. The reason for the use of additional hormonal therapy is that a significant proportion of patients receiving these primary therapies alone will experience disease progression and may die from prostate cancer.
