ABSTRACT
There is growing recognition of the importance of the primary care physician in decision-making, diagnosis and management of patients with prostate cancer. This chapter describes the general practitioners’ perspective within the UK in the context of international advances. With growing numbers of men diagnosed with this cancer and their increasing life expectancy, there is an increasing need for primary care health providers to be actively involved in shared care programs.
