ABSTRACT
Some of the most interesting aspects of dermatology are seen when general internal medicine and dermatology overlap. Skin lesions may be part of a systemic disease, as occurs in sarcoidosis or systemic lupus erythematosus, or may be a manifestation of an underlying disease or process, as seen in acanthosis nigricans.
