On the other hand, I have been humbled a number of times when attempting to make such a diagnosis by history alone. Furthermore, this patient was already known to suffer both epileptic and non-epileptic seizures. It was fortunately my standard to admit such complicated patients for definitive diagnosis using videoEEG monitoring. It was also fortunate that her seizures were frequent enough for this to be feasible.
