ABSTRACT

A 36-year-old woman was admitted for dilatation and curettage following a spontaneous abortion. This was one of multiple miscarriages in her attempt to have a child with her husband. After the procedure, she began to have multiple attacks of generalized shaking that lasted about 30 seconds each. Although the patient appeared unconscious during each attack, she often reported the sense of being able to hear health personnel talking during the attacks, and she suffered no postictal change whatsoever.
