ABSTRACT
This ‘umbrella’ term covers a wide range of problems, of variable aetiologies, which may present at different ages. For simplification, learning disability can be divided into:
1. General learning disability which is an overall reduction in intellectual capacity. IQ measurement can be used to distinguish between mild learning disability (MLD) IQ 50-70 and severe learning disability (SLD) IQ <50.
