ABSTRACT
What is ISO? Most practices find ISO to be an acronym of Greek origin. In fact it is just that! It is Greek for ‘all sides being equal’. The ISO standards were derived to ensure uniformity and harmonization of standards that have proliferated around the world. The ISO 9000 series (ISO 9000:2000, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 9004:2000) are quality management system standards that are applied generically and apply to any and all practices.
