ABSTRACT
It is a common misconception that neuropsychological testing alone will furnish a diagnosis. Rather, it is one part of a patient’s work-up that begins with a history, physical examination including neurological assessment and mental state assessment. Only once these have been completed, and depending on the findings, should a patient be sent for investigation. It is here that the results of a neuropsychological evaluation may be enhanced by neuroimaging.
