ABSTRACT
Research requires money. Funding is obtained through the submission of a research grant application. This also serves to focus future research directions and, if successful, recognizes the quality of an individual’s research efforts. However, many grant applications are unsuccessful and several applications and re-submissions are generally required in an increasingly competitive environment.
