ABSTRACT
Human bites present the highest risk of infection. Saliva contains many pathogenic organisms including staphylococci, streptococci, anaerobes and proteus. Dog and cat saliva may also contain Pasteurella multocida. Monkey bites may transmit the Herpes simplex virus.
