ABSTRACT
The CS spray unit is a registered firearm and in Britain the spray used by police contains a 5% concentration of CS in a solvent, methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK). CS is now being used by various police forces in the UK as an incapacitant and also used as a weapon, although its sale is illegal in Britain.
