Infective diseases

Many viral, bacterial and fungal organisms can produce primary or secondary infection of the foot and toenails-or simply colonize other diseases. Note that normal or transient flora may have a job to do-only treat proven pathogens! These normal flora include some staphylococci, corynebacteria, Pseudomonas sp (Figure 42) and many fungi of dermatophytic, yeast and saprophytic type.
