ABSTRACT

MARVIN ERNEST CHERNOSKY was born in Austin, Texas on March 29, 1926. He grew up in Austin, and following a 3-year Army service he received his B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Texas in 1948. He was granted the M.D. by Tulane University in 1952. His residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans was in surgery followed by dermatology. He entered practice in Houston, Texas with an appointment at Baylor University, rising to the rank of Clinical Associate Professor. In 1972 he was named Chairman and Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Medical School, at Houston, a position he held until 1982. He has held numerous hospital staff appointments and continued in practice until 1998 when he retired.
