ABSTRACT
RALPH WIER GROVER was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 26, 1920. He grew up on Long Island, where he remains to this day. With a degree from Harvard College, he went on to receive his M.D. from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Two years at a Veterans’ Hospital in Arkansas crystallized his interest in dermatology. He returned to New York to train at Skin and Cancer Hospital, as well as Presbyterian Hospital. Always a Long Islander at heart he opened a private office just outside New York City in the small suburban town of Floral Park, NY. There he practiced for 37 years until his retirement in 1988.
