ABSTRACT

PEYTON EDWIN WEARY was born in Evanston, Illinois on January 10, 1930. After attending Princeton University he received his M.D. at the University of Virginia where he has remained all of his life. It has been a life dedicated to the care of patients and to the care of his specialty of Dermatology. From 1972 to 1975 he served as Chairman of the Council of the National Program for Dermatology, helping to restructure the American Academy of Dermatology (A.A.D.). From 1975 to 1982 he chaired the A.A.D. Council on Governmental Liaison. No one in America has influenced governmental health policy in the field of skin disease more than Peyton Weary.
