ABSTRACT

ANTOINE PIERRE ERNEST BAZIN was born near Paris, February 20, 1807, one of a large family of modest means. In both his preliminary and medical education he was a brilliant student. Although his early professional interest was not in dermatology, he was a most assiduous attendant at the clinics of Biett and the last lectures of Alibert. He submitted his thesis, Researches on the Pulmonary Lesions to be Considered in the Morbid Affections Known as the Essential Fevers, in 1834.
