ABSTRACT

BENJAMIN ROBINSON SCHENCK was born in Syracuse, New York on August 19, 1872. He received his M.D. at Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1898. Following a three year residency in Gynecology and several years as an instructor, he left Hopkins to practice in Detroit, Michigan. At the Detroit College of Medicine he held the title of Associate Professor of Gynecology. In 1916 he was forced to retire to Colorado to fight a pulmonary disease which eventually led to his early death on June 30, 1920.
