ABSTRACT

JEAN-LOUIS BROCQ was born at Laroque-Timbaud, February 1, 1856. At the age of 20 he went to Paris to begin his medical studies, and in 1882 presented his doctoral thesis on exfoliative dermatitis. This thesis was a masterpiece, so greatly enlarging and clarifying the clinical picture of the disease to which Erasmus Wilson had called attention some years before, that it has since been known as Wilson-Brocq’s disease.
