ABSTRACT

FERDINAND-JEAN DARIER was born in Budapest, in 1856. After preliminary education at the College of Geneva, he moved to Paris where he became an Externe des Hôpitaux in 1878, and an Interne in 1880. Graduated in 1885, he did further work with Ranvier, Malassez, and Fournier, and became chief of service successively at La Rochefoucauld, Pitiée and Broca hospitals. In 1909, he joined the staff of l’Hôpital Saint Louis and headed a service there until his death, June 4, 1938.
