ABSTRACT
HULUSI BEHÇET was born in Istanbul, on February 26, 1889. After graduation from the Medical School of Istanbul in 1910, he worked in the clinic of Skin Diseases of the Gülhane Military Hospital until 1914. Following postgraduate studies in Berlin and Budapest in 1918, he returned to Istanbul. In 1933 he was appointed Professor of Dermatology at the University of Istanbul. His contributions to the dermatologic literature included over a hundred papers, and an important textbook on the diagnosis of syphilis.
