Histological benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is common in aging men.1 BPH may progress to cause benign prostatic enlargement (BPE), and cause benign prostatic obstruction (BPO), which is frequently associated with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). These may include voiding symptoms such as poor flow and hesitancy, and storage symptoms characteristic of overactive bladder (OAB), such as urgency and frequency.2
