ABSTRACT

There are three reasons to consider an endoscopic approach to

first dorsal compartment release rather than a traditional open

release. First, the results of open release, when viewed critically,

still have a number of complications. Second, the incisions for

an endoscopic release are outside the area of maximal sensi-

tivity. Third, we hypothesize that an endoscopic release may

allow for a localized neurectomy.
