ABSTRACT

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects 10% of the adult population and is particularly

prevalent in the superficial femoral artery (SFA), where it may cause intermittent claudication

or critical limb ischemia (1-5). This chapter will review the potential role of debulking

procedures for long femoral occlusions and focus on the role of directional atherectomy,

laser, and remote endarterectomy.
