ABSTRACT

Computer image-guiding systems, such as those introduced for pedicle screw insertion in spinal surgery can provide accurate three-dimensional surgical information intraoperatively (1-10). Recently, we developed a real-time image-guided angled rongeur for posterior discectomy in patients with lumbar disc herniation. Here, we discuss the efficacy of such an imageguided angled rongeur for posterior discectomy in these patients.
