ABSTRACT
An important first phase of the manufacturing process is the receipt of dietary ingredients, excipients, containers and closures, labels and other labeling, as well as cartons and shipping cases. The receiving procedures need to be done in an organized and orderly manner, both for good business reasons and for GMP compliance. The receiving, quarantine, examination, and release of incoming materials must be conducted in a consistent manner to help ensure product quality.
