REASONS FOR AUDITS Although not specifically mandated by the GMPs, the basic reason for conducting audits is as control mechanism to identify potential problems before they result in nonconformances that could have either business or regulatory consequences. Audits help identify and reduce risks, as well as aid in performance improvement.
